Erin Magoffie ('23) | Business Director

Hometown: Anthem, AZ
Undergraduate Degree/ Major: Bachelor's degree in English, French, and political science (minors in biology and sustainability), Simpson College
Environmental Interests: Environmental justice was the driving force behind my decision to go to law school. One of my favorite passion projects is researching coral bleaching—in fact, if you have hours to kill, ask me about sunscreen and coral bleaching!
Personal Interests & Involvement at the Law School: I enjoy playing soccer (go Barristers’ United!), painting, showing unsolicited pictures of my dog to anyone who demonstrates remote interest, and doting on my plants! At the law school, I’m involved with LALO, VLW, WOC, Virginia Law First-Generation Professionals, and Lone Star Lawyers.
1L Summer Experience, Future Plans & Interests: Last summer I was lucky enough to split my summer; I spent half the summer doing corporate work for Akin Gump and the other half working in-house for CenterPoint Energy Inc. in Houston, TX. I am headed back to Akin Gump for my 2L summer doing environmental corporate work. Eventually, I think it would be a career goal to do government work for an agency like EPA or NASA.
